Devghat

Sometimes it is really nice to step off bitten tracks and it is very easy if you travel on motorbike. So we stopped in a village Devghat where we were the only tourists.

…and we had a chance to see cremations. People bring bodies of passed away to cremate them to the holy place in Dovghat where two rivers meet.

Pokhara

Pokhara – nice town on the lake. 200km and 7 (seven!) hours east from Kathmandu. The road was just as bad as picturesque. From here we set off for a small track that happened to be pretty tough. First day 1500m up, second – 1700m down. Down to the hot spriiiiiings!

November 23 we came back to Kathmandu. Back to hot show, Wi Fi, good food, laundry and blankets instead of sleeping bags. The blog is quite a bit behind the schedule so I will try to catch up. In Kathmandu I met Alison to spend the rest of the trip together. The ancient city of Bhaktapur near Kathmandu was our first destination.

Everest base camp

Everest base camp was almost empty because nobody climbs Everest in winter time. It’s virtually impossible. Nevertheless, the views were totally awesome. A few pictures from the way back.

…and then there was a lot of sun

and we climbed Kala Patar 5545 m and the sunset over Everest was awesome! I stayed on the mountain photographing night sky until I froze off my donkey

Hi everybody,
We made it yesterday. Nov 15th we reached the summit of Island Peak (6189m). We left base camp at 1-50 am and reached the summit at 8-30 am. It was just BEAUTIFUL. We were really lucky with the weather – day later it was terrible. I’m sorry that I don’t have a nice picture of me on the top of the peak. I did not take my tripod to the summit people are less helpful Here we go. That is what I have
